So I finally called it quits with the Nadal racquet. If you didn’t know I had switched to the Babalot Aero Drive. It is a good racquet, but a bit light for my tastes and it feels too lively. So I made the switch. After trying out racquets for 3 weeks from Sports Net International here in Houston, I finally found one I really liked. I tried the Prince O3 orange, the Babalot Aero Drive Plus, and the Vokyl Tour 8, the Head Liquid Metal, and the Technifibre 325. Overall, I found some good gems in the group, but at the end the Technifibre 325 won. Very nice, consistent racquet with the right weight and balance. I really like it.
Other than tennis it has been work, work, work. We have our customers from Philips there today. Very nice people. I find it quite fulfilling when people are genuine about their wants and concerns.

Well it wasn’t my best performance, but a win is a win. 7-6 7-6. The match was at memorial park, which is a lovely location in the center of true Houston. I say true Houston, because it is the best place in the city. Most of the good areas of Houston are actually not in the city. This is one of the few excellent spots in this town. Lots of joggers, dogs, exercising folks, trees and sunshine. The humidity though is hard core. It is so bad that I went through a grip in 1 match. I have never done that before. Quite impressive if I do say so myself.
I am having second doubts on my choice of new tennis racquet. It is a babolot AeroDrive and is currently being used by the new French Open champ Rapheal Nadal. Nice, stiff racquet, but man I am used to the long body. Maybe I will give the Plus model a try. Otherwise it is like a stiffer version of my favored Prince precision 720.

Man I am going to my first lan in Houston since moving here. I mean it is probably close to my 50th lan event (or even higher) but its in my new town of residence. I hope it has a good turnout, or at least one as good as we get in Austin. Maybe less than Dallas, that was too big.
I just want to have some fun, game a bit and meet some new people.
