Cuttin Teeth

So delaney may be getting some teeth in that little mouth. She has been a little be arnery since they are coming down. I think its a bit early, and it looks like the top ones are going to come out first, but its just a tiny tiny tooth showing.
Overall, we are doing great. Cat and I have been working a lot, so I can’t wait for the July 4th 4-5 day weekend. I think we could all use the break.
It’s Father’s day!

So today is the first father’s day that I have my daddy card. Kind of interesting, but nothing unanticipated. Other than the fact that everyone is wishing me a happy father’s day. That is a little surreal.
Ooh, and Delaney was mean to me! She was tired and cranky, and needed sleep, but didn’t want to go to sleep. Its ok though, mom came to the rescue. We posted some new pictures from our antics today and many others from days where I forgot to post pics (oooops.)

Easter is over, time to eat meat!

Yep, the whole family (not like that is a bunch of people or anything) headed out to do the “tour of Texas” for Easter. We went to Austin, Brady, Abilene, and then back down to Houston making a pit stop in San Antonio at Mom’s. I finally got some pictures of Grandma and the baby since we already had lots of Oma and the baby. Very convenient that they chose different names.
Anyway, we now need a vacation from that little weekend escursion. Cat is the lucky one, (or maybe I am the lucky one) as she gets to stay home with Delaney.
Oh, and David gets to mow the grass!

Yep that’s right, Delaney will be 1 month old on the 14th. It seems like just yesterday she was crying in my arms…. Oh wait! that was yesterday!
Anyway we are all getting used to the baby in the House. We have just started taking her out on small excursions (to the tennis courts and out to eat). Of course, it’s only when she is asleep. Noone wants a noisy baby while they eat.

Delaney is home folks!
We brought her home for the first time (well I mean she has been here before, but this time externally) around noon today. It was a great time and I took some video. Soon I will get the videos up on the website for everyone to view. I will warn you now.

We have a Baby!

We now have a lovely baby girl. Her name is Delaney Elizabeth Jones, and she was born on Tuesday, March 14 2006 at 2:46 AM. She was 8lbs 12 oz, and just over 21 inches long. She has brown eyes, black hair with highlights, and really big feet. She has been very healthy from the start, and spent the majority of the day trying to figure out how to get some milk from mom. She’s got it now, so everything is just about perfect.
Cat is doing well, as she is still in the hospital through this morning. We are headed over to pick her up and bring her (and hopefully the baby) home for some much deserved rest and time off. Cat’s mom has been here to assist which I know I and most likely Catherine truly appreciate.

So Cat and I did belly pictures yesterday. It was rather entertaining. Actually she had a very full day. She got her legs waxed (because she can’t reach), got her hair cut, and make up done, plus she got a manicure. After that she went to the grocery store. I believe the walking did her some good. She says it definately makes the baby thing move right along. Well after all that we went and had pictures taken. Hopefully we can get the film developed within a week or so.
Today we worked on the baby room its finally complete. Furniture is all in (Baby’s Dream Georgian in Heritage Cherry) and all the accessories were put together. We received the gifts from my dad, and added them to complete the room (Yes! a diaper champ!).
So all in all we are very happy and thankful for all of the lovely gifts we have received. Cat and I are very lucky to have this many people be gracious enough to want to assist in preparing for the new baby.
Baby Scare today

So I was just about getting done at work today, and I got a phone call.
…. Hey Trey…. Don’t get nervous, but I think my water just broke…..
So what am I supposed to do? Get nervous (excitedly so!) So she is ok enough to drive, and comes over to my office (I should have then suspected something) Anyway we head over to Memorial Herman southwest, and proceed to park and get her up to the 5th floor where all the labor and delivery stuff happens. So we arrive with very little haste, and talk to a nurse who gets Cat straight into an observation bed. So she changes into a butt gown, and they strap her up to monitor the baby. Heart is normal, baby is busy doing something in there, but Cat seems completely normal. So we wait for about 30 minutes and well, no water. So they decide to do the girl spoon thing (specula) and take a smear. Nope, no issues. So Cat gets dressed and we head out for dinner.
So what did this get us? Well, no baby yet, and now I’m out 6.50 for parking. Oh, but I can say my wife peed on herself (well if there was no water!) ::snicker snicker
14 Days till Baby!

So we have just about 2 weeks left without a baby to play with. Right now the baby room is done, it has new paint, new fan, a bassinet, and a dresser. We are going to pick a crib this weekend, and then David and I will be putting that together. We opted against the Dresser as we will just use the closet. Also we have sooooo many baby clothes that I don’t think we will be buying any for a while. Well…. Maybe a few.
Lots of Longhorn onesies too!
I can’t wait.
Cat doesn’t know it but we are going to do pictures for valentine’s day. She never reads the site, so you guys get the first insight! Nothing like flowers and pictures to make her feel special. She is finally getting to the I am “tired of being pregnant” stage. She has been a trooper though and for that I applaud. Now I have to go fold the t-shirts.
Super Bowl Couples Party

So we are having a baby shower this weekend. It is on Sunday which is really interesting since the superbowl is on the same day. I think it will be a great time!
