Ooooh, had a good meal for thanksgiving (or 2 or 3). Got nice and fattened up. So what was the first thing we did when we got back to Houston? Well we went out with Cat’s Brother Steven and his Wife Kelly to Sambuca. Definately worth it. It was a bit pricey, but delicious. Highly recommended.

We have had a mommy cat around our house for a few weeks. She was in the backyard and such… Well we could hear something in the chimney area of the house, so I thought it was the squirrels. Nope, it was mommy cat. Why do I call it mommy cat?
Well a few days ago, I blocked off the entry into the house from the AC lines with a towel. Well about 5 hours later all I hear is mew, mew, meeeeewwwwww! Oh, no I thought, kittens. So I go outside and mommy cat is sitting on the fence trying to figure out how to get inside. Well I removed the towels, and mommy cat proceed to go back into the house through the vent. Well, there are kittens. Wonder how old they are. We found that there are 3 distinct voices, and last night we could see them through the hole for the gas line connector to the fireplace. 3 little kittens!
SO we had the critter guys come out and they put out a kitten trap. Well mommy cat kept setting it off trying to get at the cat food. So last night late I went to check the trap. Low and behold something was in there, but it sure was big… It was a POSSUM! Not what I was expecting at all to say the least. Well they are taking away the trap so we doing entice any other critters in, and we are going for a manual extraction.
So today we are going to get them out. We are going to wait till they come down and are easiest to access, then get them out of the chimney by removing the dormer screen from the house, getting them out, replacing the screen and closing it off for good. No more kitties in the house, and definately no more possums.
I will post pics.

So Cat and I went to the ultrasound. They squirted her belly with jelly and started on the baby. Looked at all the vital stuff, but I know they knew we only wanted to know what is it? I mean I can’t call it a critter for the next 4-5 months. So we finally found out, its a girl! 1.1 lbs of little girl in Cat’s belly. They took lots of cool pics, of feet, hands, spine, heart and such, but we all know the answer now!

That’s right, 3rd week of the BCS and Texas is number 1. I think that this system is crazy, but I will take it. Maybe after a few weeks, we may be back to number 2, but right now its ours!

Well Hurricane Rita was generous to Houston, sparing us its wrath.
We got home tonight about 8 and had a little wind and some rain, but nothing killer. No issues to the house, however we did lose internet access. It is back up now, and looks like I just have some cleanup to do in the yard. A few downed branches, but nothing that is major.

Man that was one long drive to San Antonio. We left Missouri City at 9:30 AM and did not get to San Antonio until 6:30 PM. I mean it would have been cool if we were going say more than 5 mph most of the time, but really the stand still traffic gets on your nerves.
Hey well we took a few back roads, and found a few short cuts, so we got here fast, or at least faster than others. Oh and we got to go the wrong way on I-10 into Seguin. We road in the Contra-flow lanes (err the east bound lanes going west). It was nerve-racking, but better now that we are here.
